Hi Julia, can you tell us about your role as Intake Consultant?

My role as Intake Consultant at Abbots Care involves building relationships with the local authorities and local organisations. I work closely with GP surgeries, hospitals and injury insurance companies and share how Abbots Care can support their clients so they can stay independent at home.

Can you tell us about your key responsibilities as Intake Consultant?

My key responsibilities as Intake Consultant include building relationships with local organisations and prospective clients and account management. Another key responsibility of mine is to attend care shows, conferences and represent Abbots Care across Buckimghamshire.

“I am grateful for my team here at Abbots Care, there is a great sense of team work and everyone is supportive”

How did you get into this role?

I heard about the role through the Operations Director at Abbots Care, Helen as I had previously worked with her and she knew my skill set would be a good match for the role.

What three skills would you say are key to being successful in your role?

  • I really enjoy talking to and meeting new people, this is key in my role. I also enjoy building relationships and working together so having good people skills is essential
  • Being organsied, there is nothing I love better than seeing my diary filled with appointments.
  • An engaging and positive attitude

How long have you been with Abbots Care?

I joined Abbots Care in 2023 and I’m really looking forward to my future here.

Can you tell us what you love most about your role?

I love talking to prospective clients and building new relationships. Another highlight of my role is attending care shows, conferences and networking with people. It’s great presenting a company I feel proud of and that live by their values.

What does a day in your work life look like?

Every day is different but I always start of my day by checking my diary to see what calls I have got booked in and contacting any prospective clients that have enquired about our services. Around meetings I make follow up calls with organisations I have already made contact with and keep moving new enquiries forward.

What are your hobbies/ interests outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy long dog walks, cooking, going to restaurants with family and friends and a relaxing spa day.

What inspires you in your role every day?

My team and our clients inspire me, working with such a supportive team and building relationships with our current and new clients.
