Team Spotlight: Reablement & Specialist Care Manager
Meet Jazz, our Reablement & Specialist Care Manager
Meet Abbots Care’s Reablement & Specialist Care Manager, Jazz. Jazz is an essential part of the team and has been for the past 10 years. With many key responsibilities including overseeing the Reablement and Specialist care pathway, ensuring an outstanding service is provided for our complex and live-in care Service Users and holding the title of registered manager for Dorset and Buckinghamshire branches, quality is always at the forefront of Jazz’s agenda.
Hi Jazz, can you tell us about your role as Reablement & Specialist Care Manager?
Shortly after joining Abbots Care we began the tender process for the lead provider contract in Watford. As part of this contract we also secured the SCAH pathway (now known as reablement) in the Watford area. I was assigned to work on this pathway which opened up many doors for my career at Abbots Care.
After holding many roles within Abbots, I transferred to Reablement and Specialist Care manager in 2022. As part of this role I continue to work on the reablement pathway but focusing more on the data behind this and ensuring we meet our KPI contractual requirements. Alongside this, I manage the specialist care looking after our live-in and complex Service Users. These individuals are those who require more advanced support with specialist trained Care Workers including spinal, peg and epilepsy care.
I have also continued to grow in this role and am now the registered manager for our Dorset and Buckinghamshire Branches.
Can you tell us about your role as Reablement & Specialist Care Manager?
My responsibilities include ensuring our contractual requirements are met for reablement, ensuring quality and adding value where we can. It’s important to me that each and everyone one of our Service Users receive a premium service.
How did you get into this role?
I was previously the Intake and Reablement Manager when it was decided that our intake team required a separate focus and larger team since our service was rapidly growing. This was also the case for our live-in and complex Service Users. Due to my history within the organisation my skill set was a great match for the role and one that I could continue to excel.
“I have been with Abbots Care for 10 years now and I look forward continuing to make a positive difference in people’s lives everyday with my team.”
