Meet Amber, our Recruitment Team Leader who is dedicated to building high-performing teams that provide exceptional care. Amber’s expertise lies in developing and executing strategic recruitment plans, identifying top talent, and ensuring a seamless hiring process. Amber is passionate about enhancing the quality of care, focusing on aligning recruitment practices with the Abbots Care values, fostering a supportive and skilled workforce to meet the needs of our clients.

Hi Amber, can you tell us about your role?

I work in the Recruitment Team as Recruitment Team Leader.

My role is to help support and manage the recruitment team as well as recruit for our more complex packages and our new branches.

 

Can you tell us about your key responsibilities as an Assistant Management Accountant?

My key responsibilities are to:

  • Supervise and mentor Recruitment Executives.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, including candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
  • Set and monitor team targets for hiring goals.

How did you get into this role?

I joined Abbots Care in 2019 as a Care Worker. Through my passion and dedication, I transitioned into recruitment, where I advanced through the recruitment and compliance team, ultimately becoming the Recruitment Team Leader.

 

How long have you been with Abbots Care?

I joined Abbots Care in October 2019.

 

What three skills would you say are key to being successful in your role?

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Being able to identify key skills and experiences.
  • Being compassionate.

 

What does a day in your work life look like?

A day in my role can range from attending interviews to completing candidate compliance tasks, including DBS checks, right to work verification, and reference checks.

 

Can you tell us what you love most about your role?

I love making a difference in individuals’ lives by recruiting those with the desired skillset and knowledge to deliver person-centered care to our clients, helping to improve their everyday lives.

 

What are your hobbies/ interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and loved ones.

 

What inspires you in your role every day?

In addition to my role in the recruitment team at Abbots Care, I also assist with the on-call / out-of-hours service. This part of my job is especially inspiring, as I get to speak with our Care Workers and Clients, helping them with any queries they may have. Hearing their positive feedback and having even a brief chat about their day makes me proud to work for a company with such strong values of improving peoples lives.
