Abbots Care Open Letter to Government Urges Action on Social Care Crisis
At Abbots Care, we are deeply concerned about the current crisis in social care.
In an open letter to the government (that you can watch here)Our CEO and Co-Founder, Camille Leavold, emphasises the urgent need for action as over 400,000 elderly and disabled individuals remain on waiting lists for care assessments. Additionally, between August and October 2023, more than 1.5 million hours of commissioned home care went unprovided due to a crippling shortage of staff.
We believe that every individual deserves outstanding care, and we urge the UK Government to take immediate action to address this crisis. Without swift intervention, the situation will only continue to deteriorate, leaving vulnerable individuals without the support they desperately need. Together, we can ensure that everyone receives the care they deserve.
We are also proud to see our open letter shared by Tomorrow’s Care further validating the points raised in her open letter and drawing attention to the issue from an even wider audience.
