The Recruitment Process

Joining the Abbots Care team.

Finding a new role in Care Services can sometimes be a little daunting and confusing. The recruitment team at Abbots Care are on hand to make this process seamless. Right from your initial interest, to managing application and compliance, through to training and on-boarding we are here to provide expert guidance and support. Our team are contactable on 01727 891004  between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday – Saturday.

Abbots Care invest in the latest technology to ensure you are kept updated and that all information required for the application and compliance processes are sent and managed confidentially.

We will both telephone and interview you in person and personally walk you through the application steps, making sure we both understand your experience, the job requirements on offer and the career aspirations you seek to fulfil your career in Care Services. We can offer interviews at a time to suit you and if you can’t get childcare you can bring your little one’s with you. We are here to answer all your questions. After a successful interview you will offered a role with Abbots Care and we will be able to discuss with you the choice of contractual options available.

If at this stage, you are merely interested in finding out more about what is involved with the role, we also run monthly “taster sessions” which will enable you to see first-hand the work involved within care services. Please do ask our recruitment team about these sessions.

Following successful compliance and interview requirements you will be invited to join our Award Winning Induction Training. This takes 6 days in total and will be onsite in our St Albans office. This is paid training * and you will receive a compliant, Care Certificate to prove you are now a successful Care Worker for Abbots Care.

Following successful completion of training you will meet with your dedicated “Care Mentor” who will discuss and explain in-depth your work area. You are now ready to start shadowing our care workers in their home care environments. The time you spend shadowing can vary dependant on how you feel and when you are ready to work alone, but we will support you throughout this period so you are clear on expectations. Our care workers are all paid on a 4 weekly cycle.
