Celebrating 30 Years of Abbots Care
Abbots Care recently celebrated 30 years of delivering care in the local community.
To mark this milestone, we held a special celebration with our current team, care workers, partners, associates, family, friends, and familiar faces from across the years, all of whom have helped shape Abbots Care into what it is today.
It was a fantastic evening of celebration and reflection. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Here are some pictures and videos from the night…
What Makes Abbots Care Special?
Our 30-year journey is a reflection of Camille and her family’s unwavering commitment to care. This passion, combined with the dedication and long-standing loyalty of our compassionate care team, has driven us forward and helped us remain at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
Over the past three decades, we’ve seen significant changes not only within Abbots Care but across the entire health and social care sector. Home care has grown in popularity as society has navigated changing governments, rapid advances in technology, and the challenges of a global pandemic.
Our Achievements
During this time, we’re proud to have received several industry awards recognising our unique company culture, our efforts to combat loneliness, and the work of our recruitment and management teams. These achievements speak to our holistic approach to care and our investment in professional development.
Abbots Care is also proud to be part of the thriving business community in St Albans. Last year, our Managing Director, Camille Leavold, received the St Albans Leadership Award. We are also supporting Youth Talk as our charity of the year, helping raise awareness and funds for their vital work, offering free mental health support to young people aged 13 to 25.
Camille’s latest accolade came as she was awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List for her commitment to the health and social care sector, alongside famous faces such as David Beckham and Tess Daly!
What’s Next for Abbots Care?
We remain committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support.
In October we will be hosting our Annual Care Worker awards at Tewinbury Farm, celebrating the hard work and dedication of our Care Workers over the last year. If you are a colleague, client, or Next of Kin of someone receiving our care services, and there is a Care Worker you would like to nominate for an award, please put them forward via the link here: https://abbotscare.typeform.com/to/zUWV8Ric
This November, we’ll once again launch our Tackling Loneliness campaign, in partnership with our not-for-profit sister branch, Abbots Friends.
Last year, we provided over 100 hours of free companionship care to people in our community. This year, we’re aiming to go even further to ensure that those most at risk of loneliness feel connected and supported in the lead-up to Christmas and into the new year.
Abbots Friends will also be hosting our Christmas tea parties, which have become a consistent and popular fixture of the Abbots Care calendar, we can’t wait to see our clients and Care Workers there!
