Abbots Care Completes the Superhero Triathlon in Support of Spinal Injuries Association
A Thank You to the Abbots Care Superhero Team
This summer, a team of Abbots Care office staff, family members, and clients came together to take part in the Superhero Triathlon, raising an incredible £552 in support of our partners at Spinal Injuries Association (SIA).
We wanted to say a massive thank you to all our supporters for their donations, and to Steve, Rosie, Maggie, Veiz, Avril, Jazz, and Cleo for taking part.
Our superhero team took on the challenge not just for fun, but to make a real difference to people living with spinal cord injuries.
- £106 would help cover the cost of a peer support session providing families with vital advice and support from the perspective of someone who has lived experience of spinal cord injury.
- £260 funds 10 counselling sessions for people adjusting to life after injury.
- £400 provides vital training for carers and healthcare professionals.
With a shared commitment to supporting people in our communities, the triathlon gave us the perfect opportunity to channel our team spirit into raising vital funds for a cause close to our hearts.
What is the Superhero Triathlon?
The Superhero Triathlon is the UK’s only disability sports series, designed to be fully inclusive and celebrate people of all abilities. Set in the spirit of fun and determination, participants take on any combination of swimming, cycling and running, sometimes with the help of teammates, or solo if they feel capable.
Our team embraced the challenge, taking part in a mix of events, cheered on by family, friends and colleagues. True to the superhero theme, everyone gave their all to complete the course and support an amazing cause.
